I value the qualities of Spiritual Intelligence as I have described them on this site (click here to read more). I choose to spend my life in the pursuit of them.
In addition to those values, these are some of my core passions:
The Truth: My only regrets as a person are the times that I have avoided it, not told it and not lived out of it, and the consequence of hurt that has caused to others and myself. I am passionate about being open to reality, recognising what is and living accordingly.
People: I like people and have a high regard for each person's right and responsibility to make sense of their own living in their own way. Accepting people unconditionally means allowing them to be themselves even when that is different from how I choose to live.
Trail Running: My dog, Troy, and I run the various trails of the Cape Peninsular, including the stunningly beautiful paths of Table Mountain, as often as possible. I am a Puffer veteran, once completed the Tuffer Puffer (a gruelling 100 mile / 160km trail run covering almost 3000m of altitude) and have run the Otter Trail in a day.
Food & Wine: There is nothing I do not appreciate eating. When travelling, I would always rather taste than shop. I love cooking and make organic biltong in my garage at home when I have the time. My favourite thing is a dram of Ardbeg while preparing home-made egg-based fettuccini with a simple olive-oil/chilli sauce, a crusty baguette and a glass of Pinot Noir.
My Car and Motorcycle: The car is a 1969 Karmen Cabrio which had a fascinating history before it came to stay with me. We’ve had some very memorable experiences together too! The motorcycle is a Suzuki V-Strom, an adventure tourer equipped for the open road and trail ready. We took a big tumble early in 2009 and both have the scars to prove it.
